Correspondent

Astrid Martinez is an Emmy Award winning freelance correspondent for CBS News since 2022. Prior to joining Newspath, she was a correspondent for BNC based in Philadelphia. She also anchored and reported for 5 years at the CBS affiliate in Atlanta covering the COVID pandemic and its impact on communities of color, the 2020 presidential election and the events leading up to January 6th. Astrid created a partnership with the Atlanta Braves reporting for Spanish speaking fans.  For two years in a row, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Astrid one of the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia. Astrid also made stops in KXAS, WBTV and KGBT. Astrid has covered immigration and border issues, as well as human trafficking and violence along the border Texas Mexico border.
