BREAKING NEWS

When there is breaking news we provide live real-time information regarding CBS News plans for interrupts and Special Reports via the Hot Sheet, BAS and EVA. Make sure your Emergency Voice Alert (EVA) is working – EVA provides audio alerts about breaking news, Newspath live feeds, CBS News Special Reports and optional coverage. Need help with EVA? CBS News’ 24 hour news gathering operation is your one-stop source for content for your newscasts and all platforms. Custom and generic live shots during breaking news, daily reports from Washington, as well as topical health and consumer stories to help service your viewers.

 

Broadcast Marketing – What to Look For

THE CBS EVENING NEWS

  • The “Early Look” – topical promo previewing that day’s broadcast drops on NewspathNow.com at about 4:30pmET weekdays.
  • Daily anchor TOPICAL PROMOS – you will get two options allowing you to promote different stories. We drop each on NewspathNow.com by 545p ET.
  • “In-the-Field” Correspondent Teases will drop on NewspathNow.com when they become available. Be sure to sign up for our e-mails and watch wires for alerts.
  • Our daily “What’s Coming Up…” note is sent at about 5p ET each afternoon. It will summarize all promotional opportunities and give you a look at the Evening News lineup. 

 

CBS MORNINGS

  • Daily, fully-produced :10 “coming up” and “tomorrow” teases are recorded by the anchors each day. These can be found on NewspathNow.com
  • Morning-of teases, recorded by 6:25amET, are also available on NewspathNow.com at about 6:30amET. These will be the most up-to-date teases and will contain any overnight booking exclusives.
  • Daily lineups with suggested toss lines to use leading into the broadcast and during your cutaways are e-mailed to producers and also sent out via the Newspath wires each day, highlighting the segments planned for both hours of the broadcast.Look for this at about 10p and updated before the show at 6a ET each day.

48 HOURS

  • A detailed 48 HOURS summary is emailed on Thursdays. Preview material, including a PKG, full frame graphics (Sat. and Tonight versions) and correspondent teases (Sat. and Tonight versions) are made available on NewspathNow.com each Thursday
  • Correspondents are available for cross-talks each week and we provide stations with extra material, special excerpts and advance notice of future stories
  • Along with a summary of the broadcast, scripts for these packages can be found on Newspath wires.

 

60 MINUTES

  • A description of  what’s coming up each Sunday can be found on our “What’s Coming up this Weekend” notes sent at 8p ET each Friday. Preview video and sound are posted on NewspathNow.com each Friday

 

CBS MORNINGS / WEEKENDS

  • Detailed summaries of CBS Saturday Morning segments and CBS Sunday Morning broadcast lineup are sent on Fridays. This information and the coming up tease scripts are available via email alerts and also on NewspathNow.com
  • Coming up teases recorded by the CBS Saturday Morning anchors are available on NewspathNow.com early Saturday morning – please find room in your local lead-in newscasts for them. 
  • The Sunday Morning 1A promo drops on NewspathNow.com each Friday afternoon.

 

FACE THE NATION 
  • Summaries of FACE THE NATION topics and guest information is sent out via email on Fridays.
